 Daily Port Update

Date:Tuesday, January 27, 2015

Updated 20 mins ago

The state of New Jersey has lifted some of the travel restrictions imposed last night due to the approaching nor'easter.

The state issued the following statement Tuesday morning:

With the passing of most hazardous overnight conditions and heaviest snowfall expected in most parts of the state by Winter Storm Juno, the State of New Jersey has revoked the travel ban that was put into effect at 11:00 p.m. last evening for travel occurring south of Interstate 195.

The ban remains in effect for all travel north of I-195, subject to an assessment of conditions in those parts of the state occurring through the morning.

New Jerseyans who are no longer under the mandatory ban on travel should continue to stay off the roads whenever possible throughout the day as transportation and public safety officials continue their work to clear the roadways from the snowfall. New Jerseyans should abide by all traffic laws and be extremely cautious if they must travel today.
