MARINE SAFETY INFORMATION BULLETIN

[MSIB # 12-09]

March 18, 2009

CANCELLATION OF SEASONAL ICE PROCEDURES FOR ICE SEASON 08-09

The Captain of the Port (COTP) Sector Delaware Bay is notifying mariners
that the forecasted conditions are not favorable for the formation of ice
on the Delaware River, Bay and its tributaries. All restrictions
established during set Ice Conditions have been removed, bringing a close
to the 2008 – 2009 Ice Season. All masters, ship agents, owners and
operators of vessels, marine facilities and marinas should resume normal
operations.

The COTP Sector Delaware Bay would like to thank all maritime partners
who provided ice reports to Sector Delaware Bay throughout the Ice
Season. These reports were instrumental in helping the Coast Guard
provide accurate, up to date ice conditions for the Delaware River, Bay
and its tributaries to the maritime industry.

If you have any questions regarding the contents of this bulletin or the
expectations of the COTP, please contact the Waterways Management staff
at (215) 271-4889 or the Situational Unit Controller at (215) 271-4807.
