NOTIFICATION OF SHOALING IN THE UPPER DELAWARE RIVER
Due to the recent floods, the Captain of the Port Sector Delaware Bay is notifying the maritime community of shoaling in the Upper Delaware River. The US Army Corp of Engineers conducted condition surveys between July 6, 2006 and July 8, 2006 and the following information was reported:
· Devlin Range: Shoaling to 37 feet on the PA side near Upper Delaware River Channel Bouy 39 (LL 3925).
· Lehigh Channel: Shoaling to 37 feet along the entire length of the NJ side of the channel.
· Keystone Range: Shoaling of 34 feet to 37 feet the entire length of the range on the PA side to the center of the range.
· Landreth Range through Florence Bend: Shoaling of 30 to 37 feet on the NJ side from the PA Turnpike Bridge to Delaware River.
· Channel LB 60: Shoaling extends to the center of Florence Bend.
· Florence Range: Shoaling of 36 to 38 feet from the center of the channel on the PA side from 500 feet west of Upper Delaware Channel LB 63 (LL 4090) to Upper Delaware River Channel LB 65 (LL 4095).
· Roebling Range: Shoaling of 24 to 38 feet the entire length of the range from the PA side to the center of the range.
· Kinkora Range: Shoaling of 36 feet the entire width of the range from Upper Delaware River.
· Channel LB 71 (LL 4155) to Upper Delaware River Channel LB 72 (LL 4160): Shoaling of 30 to 35 feet from the center of the range to the NJ side the remaining length of the range and into Penn Channel to Upper Delaware River Channel LB 76 (LL 4170).
· Newbold Channel and Blake Channel: Shoaling of 20 to 39 feet from Upper Delaware River Channel LB 78 (LL 4175) the entire width of the channel to Upper Delaware River Channel Buoy 83 (LL 4200).
· Whitehall Range, Raritan Channel, Bordentown Range: No reports as yet.
· Duck Island Range: Shoaling of 14 to 21 feet the entire length and width of the range.
· Perriwig Channel to Trenton Channel: No reports as yet.
