 .SYNOPSIS FOR THE COASTAL WATERS FROM SANDY HOOK NJ TO FENWICK

ISLAND DE AND FOR DELAWARE BAY...

 High pressure loses its grip over the area today as it moves

offshore. Low pressure will move across the Great Lakes and

then into Canada today through Tuesday. Its associated fronts

will move across the Middle Atlantic region. High pressure will

build back in from the south for the mid to late week period.

Another low will move towards the region next weekend dragging a

cold front southward through the area.

Coastal waters from Cape Henlopen to Fenwick Island DE out 20 nm-

TODAY

SW winds 5 to 10 kt, becoming S 10 to 15 kt with gusts

up to 20 kt this afternoon. Seas 2 ft or less, then around 3 ft

late. Swell mainly from the SE with a dominant period of

10 seconds.

 

TONIGHT

S winds 10 to 15 kt with gusts up to 20 kt. Seas 3 to

4 ft. Swell mainly from the SE with a dominant period of

9 seconds.  Patchy fog. A chance of showers and tstms after

midnight. Showers likely with a chance of tstms late. Vsby 1 to

3 NM.

 

TUE

SW winds 10 to 15 kt with gusts up to 20 kt, diminishing

to 5 to 10 kt in the afternoon. Seas 3 to 4 ft until late

afternoon, then 2 ft or less. Swell mainly from the S with a

dominant period of 7 seconds.  A chance of showers and tstms

early in the morning. Patchy fog early in the morning with vsby

1 to 3 NM.

 

TUE NIGHT

NW winds 5 to 10 kt. Seas 2 ft or less. Swell mainly

from the S with a dominant period of 6 seconds.

 

WED

NW winds 5 to 10 kt, becoming E in the afternoon. Seas

2 ft or less.

SW winds 5 to 10 kt. Seas 2 ft or less.
