SEASONAL ICE ALERT
The Captain of the Port, Delaware Bay has set a Seasonal Ice Alert for navigation on the Delaware River, Delaware Bay, Chesapeake Canal, Delaware Canal, all existing tributaries, and the New Jersey and Delaware Shores. Mariners observing
any ice conditions are asked to report them using the Coast Guard Sector Delaware Bay Ice Reporting Form located on the unit’s website. The address is:
Mariners can also report conditions to the CG Sector Delaware Bay Command Center on VHF Channel 16 or call (215) 271-4807.

Navigation Notices: Due to soundings for the Upper Delaware that were recently published by the the USACE, the MAC Transit Advisories will be amended to read as follows until further notice:
Upper Delaware River/Vessel Draft Inbound
1. Vessels less than 32`06" FW may transit on any stage of the tide or current.
2. Vessels 32`06" FW or greater up to 38`06" FW in draft should arrive in Philadelphia Harbor no later than 8 hours and 15 minutes, or earlier than 5 hours and 45 minutes from slack flood current at Cape Henlopen.
3. Vessels 32`06" FW or greater up to 38`06" FW in draft shall avoid meeting outbound shipping traffic above the Delair Railroad Bridge.

The Maritime Exchange is forwarding the following dredging notices from the U.S. Coast Guard for your information.
MSIB 01-19 Marcus Hook Range, Marcus Hook Anchorage, New Castle Range and Deepwater Point Range Dredging Maintenance Project from January 15, 2019 through May 31, 2019
The Coast Guard is establishing two safety zones to facilitate the Philadelphia to Sea Dredging Maintenance Project. Dredging operations will be conducted in the Delaware River from January 15, 2019 through May 31, 2019. Operations
will be conducted in Marcus Hook Range, followed by Marcus Hook Anchorage (No. 7), New Castle Range, and Deepwater Point Range.
MSIB 02-19 Chester and Bellevue Ranges from January 12, 2019 through January 21, 2019
The dredge NEW YORK Hydraulic Hammer Operations begin on January 12, 2019 and continues through approximately January 21, 2019. The dredge will be conducting hydraulic hammer operations in and around Chester Range and Bellevue Range.
Operations will take place 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Weak high pressure will build into the region today. A low pressure
system will move northeast through the Great Lakes region into
Ontario Tuesday dragging a cold front across the area by Tuesday
night. A secondary arctic front will follow for Wednesday. Arctic
high pressure will then build in for the end of the week before
moving offshore through next weekend.

from the SE with a dominant period of 5 seconds.
NE winds 5 to 10 kt, becoming SE late. Seas around
3 ft early in the evening, then 2 ft or less. Swell mainly from
the NE with a dominant period of 6 seconds.
S winds 10 to 15 kt. Gusts up to 25 kt in the late morning
and afternoon. Seas 4 to 6 ft. Swell mainly from the E with a
dominant period of 10 seconds. A chance of rain late.
SW winds 15 to 20 kt with gusts up to 25 kt,
becoming NW 20 to 25 kt with gusts up to 35 kt in the late
evening and overnight. Seas 4 to 7 ft, subsiding to 3 to 5 ft

and early morning. Vsby 1 to 3 NM.
