The Maritime Exchange is forwarding the following from the Mariners' Advisory Committee for the Bay and River Delaware for your information.

Navigation Notices: Delaware City (Bulkhead Shoal) Channel maintenance dredging (per Norfolk Dredging): The Dredge Essex should arrive at Delaware City Channel on or about Thursday, DEC 6th and begin pipeline laying operations thereafter. We will be dredging in their entrance channel from Stations 67+00 to 95+00 (which is just south of the entrance to Delaware City Marina) and also at Pier 3, which is the northernmost pier at the refinery. As usual, we will be standing by on VHF 13 and 16. Feel free to call if you have any questions.

Navigation Notices: Due to soundings for the Upper Delaware that were recently published by the the USACE, the MAC Transit Advisories will be amended to read as follows until further notice:

Upper Delaware River/Vessel Draft Inbound

1. Vessels less than 32`06" FW may transit on any stage of the tide or current.

2. Vessels 32`06" FW or greater up to 38`06" FW in draft should arrive in Philadelphia Harbor no later than 8 hours and 15 minutes, or earlier than 5 hours and 45 minutes from slack flood current at Cape Henlopen.

3. Vessels 32`06" FW or greater up to 38`06" FW in draft shall avoid meeting outbound shipping traffic above the Delair Railroad Bridge.

ISLAND DE AND FOR DELAWARE BAY...

 High pressure over the Gulf of Maine continues to drift out to

sea today. Low pressure over the lower Mississippi Valley will

track to the north and east today, then a new low pressure

system forms over the Mid-Atlantic tonight before moving out to

sea on Saturday. Low pressure then continues to work its way

through the region on Sunday. A cold front moves across the

region on Monday, followed by high pressure for much of the new

week.

SE winds 5 to 10 kt. Seas 2 ft or less, then around 3 ft

this afternoon. Swell mainly from the E with a dominant period of

7 seconds.  A chance of rain late.

 

TONIGHT

SE winds 5 to 10 kt, becoming E 10 to 15 kt with gusts

up to 20 kt in the late evening and overnight. Seas 3 to 5 ft.

Swell mainly from the E with a dominant period of 11 seconds.

Rain. Patchy fog. Vsby 1 to 3 NM.

NE winds 10 to 15 kt with gusts up to 25 kt. Seas 4 to

7 ft. Swell mainly from the SE with a dominant period of

4 to 7 ft. Swell mainly from the SE with a dominant period of

E winds 10 to 15 kt, becoming NE 5 to 10 kt in the

afternoon. Gusts up to 20 kt. Seas 4 to 6 ft. Rain likely.

N winds 10 to 15 kt with gusts up to 25 kt. Seas

3 to 5 ft. Rain likely, mainly in the evening.

NW winds 10 to 15 kt, increasing to 15 to 20 kt in the

afternoon. Seas 4 to 6 ft. A chance of rain in the morning.
