 .SYNOPSIS FOR THE COASTAL WATERS FROM SANDY HOOK NJ TO FENWICK

ISLAND DE AND FOR DELAWARE BAY...

 A strong cold front will move through the region this afternoon and

evening. Cold high pressure will follow for Thanksgiving and Friday.

A surface low will move near or south of the region on Saturday and

Saturday night, followed quickly by another one on Monday. High

pressure may nose into the region by the middle of next week.

TODAY

W winds 10 to 15 kt with gusts up to 20 kt, increasing

to 15 to 20 kt with gusts up to 25 kt this afternoon. Seas 3 to

4 ft. Swell mainly from the SE with a dominant period of

9 seconds.

 

TONIGHT

NW winds 15 to 20 kt with gusts up to 30 kt. Seas 3 to

5 ft. Swell mainly from the SE with a dominant period of

10 seconds.

 

THU

N winds 20 to 25 kt, diminishing to 15 to 20 kt in the

afternoon. Gusts up to 30 kt. Seas 3 to 4 ft. Swell mainly from

the N with a dominant period of 6 seconds.

 

THU NIGHT

N winds 15 to 20 kt, diminishing to 10 to 15 kt

late. Seas 3 to 4 ft. Swell mainly from the NE with a dominant

period of 6 seconds.

 

FRI

NE winds 10 to 15 kt, becoming E 5 to 10 kt in the

afternoon. Seas around 3 ft in the morning, then 2 ft or less.

SE winds 5 to 10 kt. Seas 2 ft or less, then around
