The Captain of the Port, Delaware Bay, issued MSIB 34-18 (Update 1) notifying mariners of two objects reported just outside the main navigational channel of the Mifflin Range, within the boundaries of Mantua Creek Anchorage #9 on the Delaware River.

Mariners are advised to use extreme caution when transiting this portion of Mantua Creek Anchorage as some depths at mean low low water could be hazardous to navigation. Vessels drafting over 30 feet should avoid this area and transit around the objects.

 .SYNOPSIS FOR THE COASTAL WATERS FROM SANDY HOOK NJ TO FENWICK

ISLAND DE AND FOR DELAWARE BAY...

 High pressure will shift offshore by midday today. Low pressure

will track along the Gulf Coast and lift across the Southeast

through the day. This system will strengthen as it moves northward

along the East Coast through Saturday before moving north of our

area through Sunday. Another weaker and faster moving low pressure

system will track across the region on early Monday. High

pressure then settles across the Mid-Atlantic through the middle

of next week. Another low pressure system will approach the area

from the southwest by late week.

SATURDAY MORNING

 

TODAY

E winds 5 to 10 kt. Seas around 3 ft. Swell mainly from

the E with a dominant period of 9 seconds.  A chance of light

rain early this afternoon. Rain likely late.

 

TONIGHT

E winds 15 to 20 kt with gusts up to 25 kt, increasing

to 25 to 30 kt with gusts up to 40 kt. Seas 3 to 5 ft, building

to 5 to 8 ft after midnight. Swell mainly from the N with a

dominant period of 8 seconds.  Rain. Vsby 1 to 3 NM after

midnight.

 

SAT

E winds 20 to 25 kt with gusts up to 40 kt, becoming SE

10 to 15 kt with gusts up to 30 kt late in the morning, then

becoming SW 15 to 20 kt with gusts up to 25 kt in the afternoon.

Seas 6 to 8 ft, building to 7 to 10 ft early in the morning, then

subsiding to 6 to 8 ft late. Swell mainly from the SE with a

dominant period of 9 seconds.  Rain early in the morning, then a

chance of rain in the late morning and afternoon. Vsby 1 to 3 NM

early in the morning.

 

SAT NIGHT

W winds 10 to 15 kt with gusts up to 25 kt. Seas

5 to 8 ft, subsiding to 4 to 6 ft after midnight. Swell mainly

from the SE with a dominant period of 10 seconds.

 

SUN

W winds around 10 kt. Gusts up to 20 kt in the afternoon.

Seas 4 to 6 ft.

 

SUN NIGHT

W winds 10 to 15 kt with gusts up to 25 kt. Seas

3 to 5 ft. A chance of rain in the evening, then rain likely

after midnight.

 

MON

W winds 15 to 20 kt. Seas 3 to 5 ft. Rain likely in the

morning, then a chance of showers in the afternoon.

 

MON NIGHT

NW winds 15 to 20 kt. Seas 3 to 4 ft. A chance of

showers in the evening.

NW winds 15 to 20 kt, diminishing to 10 to 15 kt in the

afternoon. Seas around 3 ft in the morning, then 2 ft or less.
