The Captain of the Port, Delaware Bay, issued MSIB 34-18 (Update 1) notifying mariners of two objects reported just outside the main navigational channel of the Mifflin Range, within the boundaries of Mantua Creek Anchorage #9 on the Delaware River.

Mariners are advised to use extreme caution when transiting this portion of Mantua Creek Anchorage as some depths at mean low low water could be hazardous to navigation. Vessels drafting over 30 feet should avoid this area and transit around the objects.

 .SYNOPSIS FOR THE COASTAL WATERS FROM SANDY HOOK NJ TO FENWICK

ISLAND DE AND FOR DELAWARE BAY...

 High pressure over the Great Lakes builds to the south and east

today, then moves offshore on Friday. Meanwhile, low pressure

tracks along the Gulf Coast and lifts through the Southeast today

through Friday. The low redevelops over the Mid-Atlantic Friday

night, then lifts to the north and east through Saturday. Several

waves of low pressure pass through the region this weekend. High

pressure returns early next week, followed by a cold front late

next week.

MORNING

 

TODAY

NW winds 10 to 15 kt with gusts up to 20 kt. Seas 3 to 4

ft. Swell mainly from the NW with a dominant period of 5 seconds.

 

TONIGHT

NW winds 10 to 15 kt with gusts up to 20 kt, becoming

N 5 to 10 kt after midnight. Seas around 3 ft. Swell mainly from

the NE with a dominant period of 6 seconds.

 

FRI

E winds around 5 kt, becoming SE late. Seas around 3 ft

early in the morning, then 2 ft or less. Swell mainly from the E

with a dominant period of 9 seconds.  A chance of rain late in

the morning. Rain likely in the afternoon.

 

FRI NIGHT

E winds 10 to 15 kt with gusts up to 20 kt,

increasing to 20 to 25 kt with gusts up to 40 kt. Seas 2 ft or

less, then 5 to 8 ft early in the evening. Swell mainly from the

E with a dominant period of 8 seconds.  Rain. Vsby 1 to 3 NM

after midnight.

 

SAT

SE winds 15 to 20 kt with gusts up to 35 kt, becoming SW

10 to 15 kt with gusts up to 25 kt in the afternoon. Seas 6 to

9 ft. Rain.

 

SAT NIGHT

W winds 10 to 15 kt with gusts up to 25 kt. Seas

5 to 8 ft. A chance of rain in the evening, then a chance of

showers after midnight.

 

SUN

W winds 10 to 15 kt. Seas 4 to 6 ft. A chance of showers.

W winds around 10 kt. Seas 3 to 5 ft. A chance of
