 .SYNOPSIS FOR THE COASTAL WATERS FROM SANDY HOOK NJ TO FENWICK

ISLAND DE AND FOR DELAWARE BAY...

 Water temperatures will be cold today. People participating in

water activities should take care not to enter the water.

hypothermia, exhaustion, and unconsciousness can occur in less

than one hour.

 A warm front north of our region will become stationary today

through Saturday, then settle southward through the area as a

backdoor cold front on Saturday night. Low pressure will traverse

this front from the Great Plains today into the Middle Atlantic

on Monday, when it's accompanying cold front will sweep through

our region. This will be followed by several weak troughs of

low pressure, until a more substantial cold frontal passage by

Thursday.

6 ft. Swell mainly from the S with a dominant period of

7 seconds.

 

TONIGHT

SW winds 15 to 20 kt with gusts up to 30 kt. Seas 4 to

6 ft. Swell mainly from the S with a dominant period of

7 seconds.

 

SAT

S winds 15 to 20 kt with gusts up to 25 kt. Seas 3 to

5 ft. Swell mainly from the SE with a dominant period of

10 seconds.

 

SAT NIGHT

S winds 15 to 20 kt, diminishing to 10 to 15 kt

after midnight. Gusts up to 25 kt. Seas 3 to 5 ft. Swell mainly

from the SE with a dominant period of 11 seconds.  A chance of

drizzle after midnight.

 

SUN

E winds 5 to 10 kt, increasing to 10 to 15 kt with gusts

up to 20 kt in the afternoon. Seas 3 to 4 ft. Showers likely with

a chance of drizzle in the morning, then showers likely in the

afternoon.

SE winds 15 to 20 kt with gusts up to 25 kt,

becoming S 20 to 25 kt with gusts up to 35 kt after midnight.

Seas 4 to 6 ft, building to 5 to 8 ft after midnight. Rain.

S winds 20 to 25 kt, becoming SW 15 to 20 kt in the

afternoon. Seas 7 to 10 ft. Rain in the morning, then a chance of

showers in the afternoon.
